Tyrone Calico showed his worth and the impact that the team was expecting when it made him a high draft choice in 2003. Scoring touchdowns in each of his first two games – on his first two NFL receptions – marked the beginning of his rookie campaign with the Titans. In college, he became Middle Tennessee State University’s second all-time leading receiver with 194 receptions for 2,636 yards and 17 touchdowns. Prior to being drafted, he impressed many NFL coaches with his 4.34-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in February 2003. A native of the Memphis suburb of Millington, Tenn., Calico was drafted in the second round (60th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.

Tyrone was born Tyrone Bernard Calico on November 9, 1980 in Orange County, Calif. He is single and splits time between Nashville and Millington, Tenn. He was a four-year letterman at Millington (Tenn.) High School, where he earned All-State, All-Region and All-Metro honors as a senior in football. Tyrone also lettered four years in basketball for Millington High, averaging 15.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as team MVP. Tyrone played guard for the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State University his fresman year before he decided to just concentrate on football. He majored in concrete industry management at MTSU and has aspirations to own a concrete plant following his NFL career.
